Langlade 4-H Countywide Programing

Welcome to Langlade County 4‑H Programs and Events—where young people grow as leaders, creators, and community builders. Throughout the year, our 4‑H members explore hands‑on learning in everything from arts and STEM to agriculture, leadership, and service. Whether you’re looking to attend a workshop, exhibit a project, or discover new opportunities to learn and lead, this is your hub for all things 4‑H in Langlade County. We’re excited to help youth find their spark and connect with experiences that inspire confidence, curiosity, and lifelong skills.

Bi-monthly Make & Learn
These FREE kits give youth a fun way to explore crafts, STEM challenges, and new 4‑H project areas right from home. Each kit includes two hands‑on activities and is offered at two age levels:
• K5–4th Grade
• 5th Grade and Above
Make & Learn Kits will now be available every other month, so keep an eye on our Facebook page and 4‑H newsletters for upcoming kit announcements and monthly sign‑ups. Let the learning (and creating!) begin!

Project Discovery Day
Project Discovery Day is a hands‑on learning event open to youth of all ages! Participants get the chance to explore a variety of 4‑H projects, try new activities, and deepen their skills in the areas they already love. Held each year in March, this fun and interactive morning lets youth choose their top session options and rotate through engaging, instructor‑led workshops. From crafting and STEM to animals, foods, arts, and beyond, Project Discovery Day is a great way for youth to spark new interests, grow their knowledge, and experience the excitement of learning by doing.

Summer Camp
Langlade County 4‑H Summer Camp gives youth (3rd-7th grade) a classic camp experience filled with outdoor fun, hands‑on learning, and new friendships. Campers spend their days exploring nature, creating projects, and playing games—all guided and supported by trained camp staff (Extension Staff & Approved Adult Volunteers) and enthusiastic teen counselors (youth 8th-13th grade). With a safe, caring team leading the way, youth build confidence, discover new interests, and make lasting memories the 4‑H way.

Discover Wisconsin
Discover Wisconsin is a fun, 3 day summer experience where 4‑H youth explore the unique places, people, and history of our state. Through tours, hands‑on activities, and visits to different communities, participants build independence, teamwork skills, and confidence. For many, it’s their first big travel adventure—laying the groundwork for future leadership opportunities and out‑of‑state trips in 4‑H.

Wisconsin Discovers
Langlade County 4‑H is excited to introduce a brand‑new travel experience for youth in grades 9–12. Building on the foundation of Discover Wisconsin—which helps youth explore and appreciate the state they call home—this next‑level trip takes learning beyond Wisconsin’s borders. Participants will spend four full summer days traveling, discovering new places, and deepening their understanding of the world around them through hands‑on experiences and cultural exploration. This opportunity gives older youth a meaningful way to broaden their horizons, strengthen independence, and connect their 4‑H learning to real‑world adventures.

Day Camp
Cloverbud Day Camp is a fun summer program for youth in 5K through 2nd grade. Campers enjoy a day of hands‑on activities, crafts, outdoor play, and simple adventures that introduce them to the excitement of 4‑H. Guided by caring teen leaders and adults, Cloverbuds make friends, try new things, and build confidence in a safe, welcoming environment. It’s a great first step into the world of 4‑H and a highlight of the summer!
