4-H Positive Youth Development

4-H is a national program that helps young people develop leadership, citizenship, and life skills. 1912 Langlade County 4-H has offered hands-on learning, leadership opportunities, and community involvement.

As a program of University of Wisconsin’s Division of Extension Institute of Positive Youth Development, Langlade County 4-H connects local youth to the largest youth development organization in the country. Through clubs, camps, after-school, in-school programs and countywide programs, members discover their passions and build skills like problem-solving, decision-making, and healthy living.

Based on the four H’s—Head, Heart, Hands, and Health—4-H’s project-based learning lets youth explore their interests in science, the arts, or community service through “learn by doing” experiences. Many start in local clubs, gaining leadership and teamwork skills while making a positive impact.

Langlade County 4-H empowers and inspires youth through experiential learning and career readiness, helping them build confidence and practical knowledge for future success.
