Alfalfa quality monitoring project to begin: Fields Needed!

First Crop Alfalfa harvest is approaching quickly.  Crops/Soils Educator Scott Reuss will be monitoring forage quality and quality change in the four county region beginning Monday, May 20 and each Thursday & Monday after that until alfalfa maturity progresses beyond normal harvesting goals.  Results will be sent out via this mechanism, as well as listed on area county Extension Office websites and the state-wide quality monitoring web site, linked below.  Other counties have begun monitoring and you can see those results at the website.

If you have fields you feel are ‘normal’ for your area and are willing to have Scott walk them as part of this project, please contact him via call or text at 715-701-0966, or email to scott.reuss@wisc.edu
