The UW–Madison Division of Extension’s Ag Institute is hosting the fifth annual Badger Crop Connect webinar series during the 2024 growing season. The purpose of this series is to provide agronomists, crop consultants, and farmers with timely crop updates for Wisconsin. These free webinars will be offered on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 12:30 p.m. with the spring webinars beginning in April. Registration is required.

Inputs Cost Expectations for 2025

2025 is just around the corner and farmers are already thinking about next year even as they are harvesting their crop. Input costs are a key driver of crop margins. To help farmers plan for 2025, we will take a first look at cost projections for major inputs in 2025 – seed, fuel, fertilizer, pesticides, machinery, and land rent – and generate some early estimates of break-even prices.
Corn and Soybean Price Outlook

Dr. Boetel will share the corn and soybean price outlook for early marketing year strategies. USDA and global market supply and demand  forecasts will be discussed. 
Conservation Economics Tool
Dr. Jeff Hadachek,  Assistant Professor, Dept. of Agriculture & Applied Economics, UW-Madison 
Dr. Hadachek will talk through a conservation economics tool that helps farmers manage risks by making agronomic decisions based on economic factors.
